360 Camera Unlock Device!?!

Thanks for responding. I don’t understand how it unlocks the 360 view and not the rear view. Doesn’t it need to unlock the rear view to get the top down 360 view?

Was it absolutely necessary to go this deep for the can opener install!? I did the auto start stop eliminator and had to dig into the dash a little bit. Is there anyway you could have snuck this in by just removing that lower portion like I had to for the auto start stop?

Well since it installs behind the infotainment screen.... So...No not really... I am getting used to taking the dash off though. That was the first time I had it apart. A little daunting the first time but by the second or third... Not so bad.
first time - Can Opener
second time - custom GRMS install
third time - custom audio install

I’m not sure if you or anyone else that has added the 360 camera/can opener has run into this issue… The product says that it allows navigation while moving. I have already done this modification through Forscan. If I install the 360 camera/can opener, will I have to reverse this modification prior to the install? Will it make any difference whether I reverse the mod or not?

I do not know.... I would think not since I believe Forscan is simply turning off the "off switch" while I believe the Can opener is simply bypassing it.... BUT I do not "know"...

Does the voice prompts still work with this installed and the navigation unlocked to allow using the keyboard in motion?

Reason I ask is the Forscan mod breaks the voice prompts.

Taking off the dash is a turn off though haha.

Voice prompts as in navigation? They seem to work fine. I do not like them though LOL... I typically know where I am going and only glance at a map occasionally to remind myself of exactly where I am so I can anticipate how far I have to go.

I absolutely love it. It unlocks almost all the speed sensitive things with the infotainment system.... The 360 cameras operate at any speed. Hit the button, there they are. They stay there till I hit the button to turn them off. All the stuff you can not change like entering addresses and things like that... My passenger can enter as I drive...

Easy install other than removing the entire dash... LOL...

Ya, the factory nav. I actually use it but only when I go places I have never been. The voice prompt is actually usable for me since I use a carplay dongle with Youtbe and Netflix installed on it and I would normally have Youtube music videos playing on the screen.

Spoke to my dealer about installing the CANOPENER, told me it would "void" the warranty on associated parts......

Funny... dealers that is.... It simply sits between modules... Take it out and they would never know it had been there... But Dealers being Dealers... If I do not understand it then it voids the warranty... My dealer is fine with it...

Agreed, but with all the electronics it interfaces with, don't want to be looking at a big repair bill they say they won't cover under warranty. Thinking once the 3/36 is up I might do it unless I can get it done through FORSCAN as mentioned.
