Good reads. I have noticed a less smooth idle on mine at about 44k mi. Probably time for new plugs... IIRC the job isn't much fun on the 3.0.

I got some NGR Ruth. LTR7BHX 95605 ready to go. I now see somewhat conflicting accounts if how "fun" the replacement job is...Based on thread below,

NGK Ruthenium plug will give you a smoother ride. Let us know how it works for you.
Mine sounds like a baby tank at 40,000. Anyways, which spark plug replacement did you use?Hit the 45k mark. This 2.3L has always been a grumpy little engine at idle—a little rough, a little loud. I thought it was normal for the 2.3L engine. Now it is buttery smooth.
So, the old plugs look fine at the tip—clean and dry. But the ceramic has some brown stains on it. Is that just the usual corona stain, or am I looking at something scarier, like arc leakage? All 4 look like this.
This is the original plug, straight from the factory. Getting them out feels more than spec ( I think it is 131 inchpounds ?)

Thanks, and these $40 plugs reduce the engine noise. Interesting... need to make that investment.NGK LTR6BHX 90495. Good for both engines
