I’m calling bullshit on that.
Total bullshit, sat w/ the GM of my dealership yesterday…the only thing I think he knew, well maybe he thought he knew…was that Bronco was allocated the chips over other Frod models. And if they started production on ours without chips, why would they build production after ours with chips? That doesn’t make any sense!!!

So, I talked with my dealer yesterday, really reassuring advice…we agreed that if production starts again and they ship new vehicles with zero news on mine, we would put in another order.
Ha! So now it will be a 2 year wait for a reservation I signed up for at 2AM on July 14th 2020 (due to the website crashing on July 13th)

And we also talked about trading my wife’s 4Runner in for an Expedition Max. Fuck NO!!! I am going with GM for the extended cab, captains chair, mommy-kid toting vehicle.

I am going to hate my Bronco if/when it comes at this point.

I might be off base here but why in the world would the resolution to this problem be to order a whole new car and wait 2 years surely it won’t be longer then another month tops before these trucks are here.

Great question…I will hold the current reservation, the new order would be to get back into queue as fast as possible.
We all think it’s tops,I am a soft top. So, not knowing what it is or when it will be fixed, just trying to get back into queue in case something in unsalvageable…

You’re not wrong. I’m working on the exact same strategy.

Why would you guys think that if our orders are “unsalvegable”, that Ford would just abandon our orders altogether and tell us to fuck off? Pretty sure they must prioritize us if for whatever reason our builds are messed up.

At this point anything is possible, and the way they are handling this I wouldn't surprised if that is the case. Been driving Ford for a long time, might be switching..

I reached out to @Ford on Twitter today through a direct message. Described the 6/30 blend problem and asked for some type of update and or explanation.

They replied (shocked face)! Asked for my VIN, order number and contact info!

I thought now we’re getting somewhere, finally!!! (Hopes soon to be shattered)

Here is Ford’s response

From @Ford Twitter…(I might as well have messaged a rock.)

Thank you for providing that information. After reviewing my resources, I do see that your order is being manufactured at one of our factories. This can take a few days. If you would ever like to track your order yourself, you may do so at the following link: https://shop.ford.com/vehicleordertracking. Moving forward, I recommend reaching out to your selling dealership directly for more information. They will have access to the most up-to-date information and developments regarding your Bronco order.

This is my reply to Chris at Ford…

Chris,

Your response to my original inquiry is written as if you were addressing a 5-year-old.

I had made the mistake of assuming I was opening an intelligent line of communication with Ford Motor Company, instead you insult my intelligence.

Your response is a canned response you would give to the uninformed. It’s like you DID NOT even read my original messages.

Let me address your reply line by line.

FMC – “I do see that your order is being manufactured at one of our factories”

ME-In my original inquiry I mention that my bronco has been stuck “In production” since 7/1, if not in “one of your factories” where else would it be?

FMC- “This can take a few days”

ME-This is a direct quote from the Ford Order status page. Do you think I am not aware of this? It is the exact reason for my initial inquiry. My Bronco has been In Production for 27 days. Is 27 days Ford’s definition of a few days?

FMC- “If you would like to track your order…. you may do so at the following link…FMC Order Tracking”

ME-Again, do you not think I know how to track the order status? How else would I know it’s been In Production since 7/1? I placed a reservation within 2 hours of the Bronco reveal on 7/13/2020. Do you think someone that has been waiting a year to get their Bronco would not know how to track their Order status?

FMC- “Moving forward I recommend reaching out to your selling dealership….”

ME-ARE YOU SERIOUS? I stated in my initial inquiry that the dealers are in the dark as well. They have NO explanation as to why my Bronco or other Broncos like mine would be sitting at MAP for 27 days.

I am even more livid than I was when I first messaged @Ford.

The responses across the board are at least consistent. Incomplete, parroting of canned responses, quoting of information on the order tracking, recommending contact the dealer, who is by the way, just as frustrated with the lack of information as the customers in my position are.

I am NOT the only one in this position.

Again, your response to me is like you are addressing a 5-year-old child.

Please have someone contact me who can seriously address my initial inquiry.
Ron

I assume that most of us from June were all #1 or 2 at our dealership on allocation number. Ford has not prioritized getting our builds out instead of the brand new late July builds that are shipping within 3 days of blend date. To me, unsalvagable also means a shitload of hidden problems that Ford knows about or caused during this delay that they try to gloss over and hide.

Where the fuck are people getting this information from? People need to step back from the fucking ledge. Ford isn't going to scrap a vehicle that costs them 10's of thousands of dollars to build.

Short of them completely getting destroyed in a freak hailstorm or a new car carrier smacks into a bridge (that happened with the Explorer) and takes the roofs out, there isn't much that would completely destroy a vehicle.

If they sat for weeks with a few inches of water in them they might. 🤔

I'm trying to be positive...I know my vehicle has moved since its been built and has only been sitting two weeks.

People have to quit assuming the worst.

Ok sorry, maybe unsalvageable was an extreme word…step back from the ledge on that. my thought is this - I have been built since 6.18, it’s not a chip issue, it’s not an MIC issue, it’s not logistics. They cranked through cars over the last 2 weeks (before this week) and everything that was built was pretty much shipped. Something is wrong, call me crazy, but how could anyone assume anything other? Not one person can give any answers on all of these cars sitting.
I am not near the ledge in Bronco, I am near the ledge on my current Bronco.
