I used my DJI Mavic 2 Zoom drone to follow me down an old country road for 2 miles. Obviously it would have been better to film me climbing hills somewhere but had to test it first. My wife said I just like playing with my toys. She's right . . . . .

Very nice! I want to take my Mavic 3 Pro Cine up and doing something similar.

That's pretty cool. I've always wanted a drone, but figured I'd end up losing it in a tree, it'd be too complicated, or something else :ROFLMAO:

I feel like this was part Bronco driving video and part advertising for the Maven app.

Very cool how that all works. So, are you saying that the Follow Me from DJI would have lost you on that road because it doesn't use GPS and can't see through the trees?

Thanks. It's a lot of fun to do but I'm always happy once I land my drone successfully with no crashes.

Thanks. It was more of a rant on DJI than an advertisement for the Maven app. I do believe the DJI follow-me feature would certainly have lost me in the trees. I've tried the DJI app follow-me mode several times with very little success. The DJI app will lose me even in clear sight if I am on a grayish oil top road that is similar in color to my Bronco. If you have a bright yellow or orange Bronco you might be good to go.

Wow! This is a great view of your Bronco driving from the drone's POV. Thank you for sharing this awesome video with everyone, Jody!

I know this feeling for sure..... After about a year with my Air 2S and no issues, crashed it out of being too comfortable. Now replaced with the Mavic3 and spend a ton more on accessories and batteries. Between setting up and taking down a drone while on a trail, plus the sigh of relief of another successful "flight" lol..... its nice to put it back into the case.

Here a group run I had out to a dry lake bed. I didnt put much of my white bronco in it but thats where I used active track, everything else was manual:

I LOVE drone shots too. Make such a big difference. I also agree that the DJI tracking software sucks. I spent a few hours messing around at out track and while the clips I got (beginning of video attached) were good. The drone kept loosing me in the dust cloud every 15 or so seconds.

I've been waiting on a Mavic 2 deal, they really seem to be the best one to get

That was an excellent video! Looked the Active Track worked well while following your white Bronco. I saw that you were the more daring driver! Very nice manual flying as well.
