A little wheel help...

So it's getting time to put tires on the station wagon. I wanted to upsize to an 18" wheel as well, but keep somewhat close to a factory look... maybe...

I had AI create this image - and this was the wheel I originally wanted (still like it, but maybe other options to weigh).

My issue is, when I go up to an 18", what offset would be similar to factory on the Wildtrak, or at least not inset anymore. I wouldn't mind a little more width but not necessary.

If anyone has an suggestions as far as tire size or a wheel to check out, I'm all ears. These wheels are definitely not cheap ($370ea on their website).

Almost any wheel you can find will have less inset due to the fairly deep +30 offset of the factory Sasquatch wheels. 0-offset wheels (most common) would give you about half an inch more poke on either side, assuming the same wheel width.

The guy at Wheelpros I talked to may have known exactly what he was talking about - he just didn't seem too sure. He said go with 1mm offset (I usually find 18x9 in 12mm offset or 1mm).

Wider wheels don't mean more poke. That's affected by wheel offset and tire width. Of course, if you go to wider tires for the purpose of fitting wider wheels, then you have more poke.

You know you greatly reduce tire option with an 18? The ones that are there are often E rated.

The face of the wheel will be further out with a wider wheel but that doesn't translate directly to tire poke.
Also I did my math wrong, 0s would be a little over a full inch on either side relative to +30s, and +12s about 3/4".

I just like the thought of a larger wheel, without going to a 20 - which I think might be too big.

Check out your choices, you may be happy, look at price also.

Might want to give these guys a look EXT If you get the tire and wheel package they give pretty good discounts + military if applies, I used them on most of my jeeps. I too have hit the 65K mark and looking at wheels/tires soon going to stay at 17 inch but was looking at getting a little poke. I like my steelies and not sure I want to drop 1200+ on wheels, so might go the spacer route decisions, decisions...

On my OBX I actually went down to a 17" because of the more limited options of tires, many of which are E rated and the higher cost. Dropping to a 17 was a win win win...

18" is sort of a outlier in terms of availability for decent tires. You have a lot more better choices at 17, as well as better performance of course.

If you really want 18s. OBX rims are basically free on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.
