I don't get the point of these Chinese made Gucci shackles.

You can get a real American made equivalent for less.

Wanted to match cyber orange. Gearamerica was out of insulators for their yellow shackles, but will likely upgrade to them once their products are back in stock.

But help me understand why we need shackles anyway? Aren't the factory points all we need? What do the shackles do? Thx.

Their real use is to attach recovery ropes, winch lines etc. Nowadays though they are considered a fashion accessory.

i like the bolt assembly. I have been tightening mine because one side always starts to back out.

I put a black zip tie around mine, keeps them in there nice and tight, and is also a mild theft deterrent.

And soft shackles are much safer. Though good ones cost a bit more.
