I can confirm that without the support of them there is a whole lot of creaking and crackling noise coming from the tailgate, adding some extra padding there makes a big difference, and I would not run it with the gap.
Yes I added 2 racquetballs and it works perfect

Here you go. I actually needed to shorten mine when putting on wider tires.

Same part number as my BL bumpers. I thought it would have been a different part and a little longer.

I’ve been wondering about this. Seems like most are cutting them if going wider…guessing a little trim won’t hurt.

Awesome! I am going to try this route
Got them on Amazon and you can't see them at all. I had to work a bit to get them in there but I feel like they are working great and I didn't have to take the spare off or anything like that.

How were they secured? Bolted in or a pin of some sorts?

Under the spare on the rear gate are two of these little plastic support thingys, that the spare rests on.

Seems they help with keeping some stress off the spare tire carrier and spreads the load over a larger area.

Issue is I have a pretty big gap there since I went with 0 offest wheels, so would like to replace the current ones with larger ones, so the spare is actually resting on them.

Would imagine they are sold in different sizes for different vehicles but no idea what they are called to look it up and any of my searches have come up empty.

So, anyone know what they are called?

I had the opposite problem on my TJ. I used hockey pucks to replace the OEM snubbers. You could do the same but you would have to slice them, cut them to match the diameter of the OEM parts and you may need longer bolts.

I figured that original bump stop was made to have a little give, hence the rubber, so went this route.

Did you glue them? What type of adhesive did you use?
