Apple iOS 18 Update

I recently updated my phone and my wife's phone to iOS 18. Update went fine but text alerts stopped displaying on her 2021 Explorer and my 2023 Bronco BD. On hers, I had to go into phone settings and re-enable the setting for "Show Message Notifications". To do this on an iPhone, go to Settings> Bluetooth> hit the "!" to the right of your vehicle name. If the setting is off, turn it on. If it's on, turn it off and back on. That worked for hers.

On my Bronco, it did not work. I ended up deleting the device, re-pairing and then turn the setting on. All is normal now.

My primary phone notifications have not changed with iOS18 and all appears to be working. Although, there have been substantial changes to messages. I've been playing with it for a few months now.

Glad you posted this! I have not updated to IOS 18 yet but noticed my text alerts were no longer working. Checked and the notifications were turned off.

A few things I’ve noticed….when I plug the phone into a charger cord while playing music or podcasts the fade moves to only the front speakers. Moving the fade to the middle doesn’t work. I also have the recent Bronco sync 4 update. I’m not sure if this is an iOS car play issue or a sync 4 four update.

Has anyone found a fix for this issue?

I’m still not impressed with the connectivity. Not only the Apple CarPlay, but the Bluetooth in general. My screen will lock on the bronco logo three out of ten startups. CarPlay only connects seven or eight out of ten times. I still get the audible notification but no visual notification but only on certain screens. Maybe it’s me but not user friendly that’s for sure.
