Possibly, but the Black Diamond might make more sense for me. I don't need swaybar disconnect and I can probably survive without front lockers. Don't care about GOAT modes. I can upgrade tires and/or rims later. Throwing the 2.7L auto into the BD is more affordable than the BL. Might also Squatch the Base w/2.7L. I'm all over the map really. Are you getting badlands?
Does the suspension upgrade lift the Badlands relative to the Black Diamond. it seems that negating different tire sizes, the Badlands is 1/2 inch or so higher. Is this true and what gives it the lift? Can't find this info anywhere.you left out the included upgraded suspension, access to High and Lux packages and the Modular Hard Top but I agree with your point.
I owned a 4 Runner for 7 years and it was great. Had 4 Wranglers and 2 LR defender 90s. For me a 12 year old design 4 Runner is not comparable to a new open top Bronco. One is old and tired, the other new and refreshing. The 4 Runner engine is okay, but imo won't perform like the Ford engines. If you are seriously considering a 4 Runner, you could forget the Bronco. You should also consider the Base/Squatch/2.7L. That msrp is under $44k and would be a MONSTER compared to the TRD at the same price.Up until yesterday, I was all in for the Badlands Sasquatch. However, after looking at the prices of the options of the Badlands and the starting price of the four door at $46085 including destination charge, I am reconsidering if I should buy a Bronco. When I added the options that I like, the total was at around $57k-$58k, including the Sasquatch package.
I looked at the 2020/2021 Toyota Trd Off Road 4runner. That model has a rear locker, multi-terrain select (Similar to GOAT in Bronco), Crawl Control (similar to Trail Control in Bronco), and ATRAC (which acts like a front locker). I get get all of that with a 4runner for about $40k-$42k. Also, the 4runner has superior reliability as compared to the Bronco because the 4runner has a naturally aspirated engine as compared to a Turbo on a Bronco.
With that said, I am now considering a 4runner Trd Off Road instead. Anyone having the same feelings as I am with regards to Bronco pricing and buying considerations?
What attracts you to just the standard package on your future Bronco?Possibly, but the Black Diamond might make more sense for me. The sasquatch on the badlands is only $2500, per the survey pricing. You get 35 inch tires. My conclusion until I see the B&P is that Badlands + aftermarket lift and wheels/tires is the better deal. You could do Sasquatch and sell the wheels and tires and get your own and do pretty well but the badlands comes very well equip already.
I’m pretty specific on wheels/tires, I’ll likely go with 37s and don’t care for the look of the wheels. The sasquatch on the badlands is only $2500, per the survey pricing. You get 35 inch tires already.
I don't need assistance driving as I'm pretty good at it. Cross traffic alert, lane keeping? Dual zone temp control, really? It's like having a smoking section in the passenger seat, but non-smoking on the driver's side. What attracts you to just the standard package on your future Bronco?
At the very least, it has android auto and apple car play and a standard 8 inch screen.I don't need assistance driving as I'm pretty good at it. Cross traffic alert, lane keeping? I want A/C and a radio. I can turn on high beams when they're needed. I also don't need a screen at all, but a 12 inch tv on the console is a horror for me.
I want a big bad ass, cool ride that can drive over anything. I want to take the top off. I want as few gizmos as possible so they won't break over time. I could NOT CARE LESS ABOUT MID, HIGH OR LUX packages! What attracts me to the Std Pkg is the lack of crap I don't want.
But Sasquatch needs an auto tranny; add another $1600 for 10spd AT or $3500 for the 2.7L engine and 10spd ATThe sasquatch on the badlands is only $2500, per the survey pricing. You get 35 inch tires.
The compiled info we have gotten from Ford is vauge...but suggests that Badlands, Squatch, and Wildtrack all share identical suspension packages. The "unique badlands suspension" is a shorter bumpstop which allows more flex, but tire rub w/35s. This is of course based on speculation, and comments from Ford...not hands on proof. Many threads on this in the tech section under suspension. The purpose of this was to give Badlands trim the best possible RTI # for advertising purposes.Does the suspension upgrade lift the Badlands relative to the Black Diamond. it seems that negating different tire sizes, the Badlands is 1/2 inch or so higher. I’ve read this in other places but how true is this? I feel like Ford will have this Bronco dialed in no matter if you get the 33” or 35” tires. I absolutely love the look of the 35” tires however I also know that I will “probably” never need the 35” where I am. And even if I do it will be rare. I know here in Canada the 35” will love the snow.I guess it really depends on why and how badly you want 35”. The reason why I am going with BL vs. WT is because of the 33” BF- AT tires.. Rated the BEST BY many as the go to tire for road and off-road use.
And the 4.7 gearing also goes into the cost of sasquatch. The only way you get 4.7 is with the manual, otherwise you have to go sasquatch.I’ve read this in other places but how true is this? So will the handling trade off be worth it just for looks alone? We all know these are not GT350’s and I’m not expecting it to be. I just want a glorious off road vehicle where I can go anywhere and just take my time going there.
I feel like $2500 to Squatch the Badlands is pretty much the cost of the tires and I guess the upgrades rims. Not sure what I’ll do but the ride is what has me thinking. Do the KO2 AT even come in 35s?
Black Diamond- 36,050Where I kind of am is this... What's a better choice? A BD with Sasquatch or a BL without.
Obviously we all know the differences, but what's a better choice if the money is similar and they are optioned similar...![]()
