The bead grips are not beadlocks. They utilize additional grooves on the inside of the rim to add grip strength to the regular bead catching surface. Same goes for the ICON InnerLock tech, the tire is still mounted on the rim bead normally, with additional grip on the bead given by the bolts. I'm not aware of any true beadlock rim that's DOT approved in beadlock mode when you move the bead outside of the rim well and don't mount against the rim normally.this statement is true to a point. However, there are more and more DOT approved beadlocks and I do believe the Method wheels mentioned are DOT approved. The 8 bolt HMMVE wheels that I have on my 79 bronco with 42" pitbull rockers are definitely NOT DOT approved but it hasn't seen the pavement yet and probably wont see a lot of it when its done
