Bestop Sunrider height above hard top when open?

I’m about to pull the trigger on a Sunrider for my 2 door and was hoping somebody could tell me how high above the hard top it sits when open.

I measured from the hard top to the garage opening and I’ve got about 10” to spare so I’m thinking it’ll be close.

It takes 2 seconds to reach up and pull it closed…you don’t even have to latch it. I realize you might forget, but why chance it?

That was the reason I was checking to see how much room I’ll have to work with. Obviously it takes no effort to close it but inevitably one day I’ll forget and that would be a pretty expensive mistake.

I saw a video where the guy put his garage door opener in the Sunrider header so he’d have to close it before he can open the garage. I plan on doing that as well but still might not save me if I come home and the garage is already open haha.

Did you go with the twill or the black diamond? I found somebody selling a new in box black diamond for a good price. Not as good as the twill material from what I hear but the color is supposed to be a little lighter so maybe it’ll match the hard top better.

Mine is twill but nothing wrong with going black Diamond at a good price and helping someone else get it off their hands! Post a pic when you get it installed!

I think the price on this black diamond I found is too good to pass on. If I were buying new I would probably spend the extra $100 for the twill though.

Got it installed today and so far I'm loving it, plenty of clearance with the garage opening. Only downside is the roof rack had to go, looks a little naked without it in my opinion. Might have to go ahead and throw a light bar up there now.

That’s a good point, I’ve seen some posts complaining about noise after installing those. Probably not worth it.

Guess I’ll just run with the rack in the winter time with the panels on.

I accidently backed into the garage 1 time with it opened, and it did make it, but it was far to close for me. all it would take is for the door to open 1/2" to 1" less one time and boom, it would get expensive. Problem solved by my wife. She bought a Mustang convertible and stole our 1 car garage. The Mustang has no problem going in or out of the garage with the top open... Ha Ha Ha
