Similar situation:
My daughter, while on her way to work, called and said she had slid off the road and hit a tree.
She said she was fine but her 2000 Mustang was pretty bad.
So I hop in my 2002 SportTrak and head that way.
I get to where she was at and find a section of black ice over a hill.
This was on a remote country road and some overhanging trees had kept the moisture from evaporating.
Anyway I call the cops to make an accident report and I drive the SportTrak to the top of the hill and put my 4-ways on to warn anyone coming over the hill.
My daughter grabs my arm and points.
The Sport Trak is sliding backwards down the hill.
Luckily it stopped when it hit the grass/gravel shoulder with no damage.
Hopefully you didn’t call your wife to come help, because after that you’d have to start bringing in extended family!

Hate to hear it 🙁

I have found over the years that nothing gets me into trouble faster than being in in a hurry. Hope the sting of repair isn't too crazy for you.
Same. I'm finally at the point where if I'm in a hurry, I a lot of times know to stop, take a deep breath, and get out of that mode. The in a hurry mode doesn't get me to where I'm going that much faster.

Part of getting older I suppose. I used to be the person riding other people's asses because I sped everywhere I went. Now I'm the one who get their ass ridden and just pulls over and let's them pass.

Funny to see this post. Just last week I woke up to a knock at the door on my mountain cabin.

Seems that I hadn't quite crested the flat spot of my icy driveway and my Bronco had slid down the driveway and was blocking the street.

What 37’s were you running?
Nothing name brand (see below)

They are sipped - tho not as deep as other tires I’ve owned. I think it was less the tire’s fault and more “just the wrong” combination of freeze-melt that made the driveway slick as …. Well….slick as ICE 😂

I've had my work truck slide on ice while parked.

Also had this happen once -- came to a stop for that gap, utv slid sideways and tipped.

Mine has slipped a bit on the slightly inclined icy parking lot here on the mountain. Putting on the parking brake seems to help, for whatever reason. KO2's.
