I have a stock 21 Badlands non-sas. The rear shocks ate it and Ford won't help. I bought Bilstein B8 5100s all the way around and wanted to know if anyone has upgraded the stock badlands shocks only to 5100s. What should i set the ride height to front and rear? It's pretty much my daily driver right now. I was looking to put closer to proper sized 33s under it on the stock suspension but I'm not opposed to getting new wheels and putting 35s under it either. The stock goodrich's will need replaced in the nearish future. Any words of wisdom from y'all on my first post here would be greatly appreciated!

Rear shocks ate it? In what way? You’re owed a warranty replacement from Ford in a few months even if they didn’t fail.

reservoirs rusted off ford told me to pound sand. I dont have the money to sit around and pay for a rental car and everything else while they get their heads out of their rears. So I bought better shocks and I'm having a friend install them at his shop as I don't want to deal with the springs. I'd like to know where the sweet spot is on the adjustable ride height.

if you are on 33s and daily driving. Lowest setting both front and back. That should be close to or just above SAS lift height.

Thanks for the response. It's on the factory metric "33s" 32 and some change. I'll try it at the "stock" settings. I've read that the documentation from Bilstein is off a bit so that makes sense that it would give it a little bit of a lift at the lowest settings for my suspension.

Curious. Is there a reason you went with the 5100's instead of the Bilstein 6100's and swap the stock Non SAS springs over?

I always thought the 6100's were a more comparable swap with the Hoss 2.0 Non SAS Badlands. And the 5100's were a better swap for those with Hitachi's.

I only ask because I'm currently debating between the 6100's or the Eibach Coilovers. Cost wise, the 5100's are the cheaper option that I haven't really looked into.

It's what I could have here the quickest based on a minimal amount of research. I knew they'd fit with the stock springs and are slightly better than the factory ones. Ford really screwed me on this one. They had my rig for almost a week before telling me I was on the hook for the rental and all and they planned to do nothing to rectify the situation. If anyone is wondering I wound up going 1.3" up in the front and 1.2" up in the rear. I will report back when I get it back on how it looks and feels

Bilstein 6100s only fit the larger Sas springs. I got tired of waiting on Ford and got four 6100s from suspension lifts.com for $973(IIRC). Very happy with them, and my purchase.

Let us know how you like the 5100's on your Badlands.

I currently have a non sas badlands levelled with Zone 1 inch level on 35's with 0 offset. I don't offroad much at all, and just want a little more lift and to smooth out the ride a bit. The stock BL suspension is quite stiff.

I had 5100's on a previous Sierra and they were really good, so if I can get a little more lift in the front than 1 inch and smooth out the ride with just 5100's, I would go that route.

Got it back at the 1.2-1.3" level it went up like 4". My buddy said it didn't seem to work without the spring cup adapter that Bilstein said not to use but he did anyway. It is stiff as all get out and will need aftermarket uppers. It looks tough as hell.

Looks good. Do you mind measuring ground to fender at some point. With my 35's, I'm at roughly 39" front and back.

And sorry, did you say that the ride got stiffer?

How do you like this set up?

From what I've been reading the Eibachs are quite a bit softer than stock Badlands suspension and the 6100's keep the firmer ride.

I use my Badlands as my daily, and wouldn't mind taking some of the stiffness away. I aired down to 35 psi which helps, but the rear end really bounces around on the chattery stuff. I also like the idea of a direct swap and not having to deal with spring compressor by going with the Eibachs. Of course, that comes with an increased cost $$

39.5 to the flare front on stock"33s" and 40.5 in the rear measured the same. And yes it got way stiffer. I'm not sure the rears weren't half broke when I got it in February. It doesn't ride bad just a bit stiff.

I like it. You still feel all the small stuff, but larger stuff doesn't make you wince. Love them for high speed stuff on or off road. Very stable at speed, even up to the limiter(107 mph). The local Ford dealer(Kendall) installed them for $360, which I thought was a decent price.
