I towed a trailer with two, two-passenger SeaDoos and I didn't even feel them. Don't really know the total weight but it seemed like the 2.7L could handle a lot more.

Yes as long as your tongue weight is under 350 lbs it will easily tow up to 3500 lbs.

I just returned from our first trip towing our jet boat to the river using our black diamond 2.7L. The boat is 20ft. Boat and trailer weight 3400 lbs. The trailer doesn’t have trailer brakes. I thought the bronco handled great. I averaged 16.8 mpg after about 600 miles total.
Towed my 17' Lund Crossover better than my Nissan Pathfinder ever did.
I have a 4dr badlands w/ 2.7l non sas and tow my 19ft stoner supercat. Feel pretty good up to around 60-65mph. It probably weighs in the 2500lb range. I also have a little 14 sportsman trailer thats 2100 empty and tops at 2800lbs and it tugs a little more but I am pretty sure that is due to wind load and not overall weight. Hope that is helpful
