I bought a 22 base sasquatch with mt. It came with a Ford performance tuner. I can connect it to the bronco and change from stock to performance tune but not much else. I don't have forscan or tuner software on my laptop. Even if I got the software installed I'm guessing that the procal software is tied to the original owner? Can the dealer do anything to help or am I stuck with it as is?

As far as the Ford Performance Tune, the only options would be keep it or return to factory.

Other options with the Pro Cal like adjusting for larger tires should be available, but the exact procedure for loading up on your computer may be deep in the forum's search.

Forscan uses a different OBDII adapter and it has a license fee, but is really easy to use, in my opinion, with information on the forums. The main concern is to backup your stock configuration in multiple places and in between experimental changes if you want to make any.

Hum....well the FP tune is "VIN locked", but it is also tied to a username/email and password, used to backup OG factory tune and download/update the tune (software) itself, so yea the OG owner would have to pass on that username and password before you or even a dealer could usefully connect it to the Ford server.

Is the FP tune itself transferable, such that Ford or a dealer could unlock and pass that account to you somehow now that you own that VIN?? Maybe @Ducati1098 knows

Nothing a dealer can do, but contacting Ford Performance directly could probably help with that.

Although if OP can already switch between stock and the performance tune, the account really doesn’t matter unless they wanted to upgrade the steering rack or something like that.

So if I'm understanding correctly, I wouldn't gain much by having the software on my laptop? Except I should have backup copies? I can currently change the tune & there's an option for tire size. Thanks

Having the software doesn’t really change anything if you already have the tune on the device.
What’s in the Procal now, is all you get. The software is only for loading the tune into the procal really.

The only thing you can’t do is download an update if they make any changes to the tune

You probably don’t want to do that anyway - they tend to take away features or break things more than they fix bugs or add new things
