I've tried procedures I seen in YouTube videos, procedure found using google and the procedure I found on this form, none have any effect to get it into Maintenance mode.

Did Ford disable this function in an update somewhere along the way? Did they make it smarter so maybe it is not needed anymore to change the rear pads.

This is the first time either of my 2022 Broncos has needed brake pads and I've been doing them on my other cars for decades. This electronic parking brake is a new animal and this is quite frustrating.

So what's the story?

If your Bromco is a two door it won’t let you put it in brake maintenance mode you need an expensive scanner to place in that mode or take it to the dealer and let them do the rear brakes. You can trick it by disconnecting the battery before you work on it take off the electric brake motors and hand screw them back in but then you still might get a brake code where it won’t calibrate. Odds are you’ll get the code. It’s a major pain in the ass to do rear brakes on the 2 door.

I’ve posted on how to do rear brakes on a 2.3 without maintenance mode. It’s very simple and no software is required. Search for 2.3 and brakes.
