Anyone else in here have the tailgate table installed? Yesterday I was barely leaning on mine and one of the cables broke. Has this happened to anyone else and were you able to replace it? Pics attached for reference.

Take it to your local hardware store, they might be able to make you a new one.

Can you just crimp it back together? You can probably fix it with a cheap piece from a local hardware store.

Worse case you might be able to get a new one through Ford (or whoever actually makes the table), but it probably will be very over-priced.

Goodness, that's a simple enough repair

I had the same end of the same cable slip out of the crimped connection as well. Still have not found a replacement part number to order from Ford. Will go to the local dealership tomorrow to see what they can help me with. This is a case of a bad crimp, not over stressing the table with too much weight. Yes, I could build a new cable assembly myself but I'd like to have some accountability from Ford on a faulty part I paid for.

You could cut the heat shrink off and see if the failure was due to an incomplete crimp (swage). You might even be able to reinsert the end of the wire and re-swage.

Could not find a parts breakdown with the part number of the cable and didn’t make it to the dealership. Tried reinserting loose end into the crimp sleeve but no luck. Cut off the old crimp sleeve, used a new 1/16” crimp sleeve and covered with heat shrink. Looks factory
