It's not even here yet... but anxiously awaiting the arrival of a 25 2 door manual badlands sasquatch. curious about what others are experiencing currently with delivery wait times. also, being a newcomer, looking for ideas on where to cut my teeth on some mild off-roading in northern california. any advice is appreciated.

Welcome, what's the reason you went with Sas on a Badlands with a manual? Did you do a lot of researching before your discission?

Mostly looking to make as big a change as possible... been driving sports cars (tesla s/maserati gran turismo) for last 9 years ago. wanted manual for first time in 20+ years. like the idea of being up high too after so many years of being glued to the ground.

I think the point he was trying to make is that Sasquatch doesn't gain you much on a stock Badlands. Some folks will say that the non Sasquatch Badlands is actually superior for various reasons which make a lot of sense to me.

This...... Since you are getting a manual you get all the performance options and the same gearing (not the case with the auto). Take-off Badlands wheels/tires go for about $200 less that Sas wheels/tires. Badlands gets you .6" of lift were the Sas package adds another .5". About the only thing else you are getting is wider flares. So you are paying $5040 extra for 1/2" of lift and $200 worth of tires, and different flares.

Does the manual get the same gearing in the Badlands? My manual Big Bend only has 3.73, but I'm obviously missing a bunch of other stuff that the Badlands gets so that doesn't surprise me. I do think I remember reading that the cost on a Sas Badlands is lower than other trims because you're already getting most of the features standard, but I don't recall for certain. If I were in the market for a Badlands, I think I'd go non-Sas.

That said, I don't blame you OP. I've owned S197 Mustangs exclusively since 2005 until I bought my Bronco last September. I kept my GT when I bought the Bronco (I doubt I'd have gotten much in trade on a 2008 Mustang GT with 230k miles on it). I prefer driving the Bronco a lot. The Mustang's fun, but the Bronco feels better. Since it's higher up I can see better. I'm sitting more upright and that's more comfy. I feel a bit safer up there, in the larger vehicle as well. And as a daily driver, my 2dr is much more nimble in parking lots not to mention performant in bad weather.

The Badlands manual gets you 4.7 gearing regardless of sas, unlike the rest of the non-sas trims, where you get 4.46. If you have a manual you don't have 3.73.

hmmm. Just went and re-checked my axle code. I did this once, and was certain that the code broke out to 3.73, but according to the Ford documentation I am looking at now, 46 breaks out to 4.46. Thanks! I'm not sure how I got those wires crossed.

Congrats on your new purchase! You sound excited, which makes a lot of us excited for you.
We all remember how we felt with our new Broncos. Looking forward to pics!
(and you don't need to justify your purchasing decisions to anyone on this forum. You'll get used to it! It's "usually" not meant with malice...) :lipssealed:

Sounds awesome. I don’t know NorCal very well but there are tons of spots up that way. Just start driving!

Also book Off Roadeo!

Thanks everyone. To address the sas vs. non sas question, frankly i just thought it looked cooler and didn't want to fuss with too much heavy lifting in the after market arena. And yeah - definitely gonna look into the Off-Roadeo thing. Pair that with a night or 2 in Vegas... Sounds like a blast.
