I mostly made this post to encourage more people to go to the Bronco off Roadeo. I went and really enjoyed it.

Weather you have never gone off roading or you have, you will enjoy this. If in fact you never have never gone off roading the Bronco off Roadeo would be a perfect start.

I did the full day off-roadeo with my wife. I grew up off-roading and she had no off road history. We both enjoyed the event.

Lunch and dinner provided, very good staff. You start off in an out door class room when basics are gone over, then a demo with a bronco driving over obstacles and on to everyone getting in a Bronco for driving on the trail.

There was a different group driving Bronco Raptors that we passed once but we did not see them again as they were driving different trails.

I remember that! The Off Roadeo gave me a better appreciation of the Bronco's capabilities. I'll be pushing mine harder than I would have if I had not gone to the Off Roadeo.

Yes they have you drive down a steeper hill using the hill descent control then most people would ever try.

The off-roadeo does a good job of cover all the modes and systems of the bronco. I have done a lot of off roading but it was old school no fancy systems so I did enjoy seeing then new technology in use.

We did that twice. The second time I turned off hill descent control to get a better idea of how the engine and transmission performed without the brakes. It still did quite well. There's excellent engine braking. If you put the automatic in M1 or M2 the torque converter locks up.

All the Broncos at Off Roadeo have automatics, but I bought a manual for just such downhill sections. The last time I drove a truck with an automatic on such a hill, the torque converter did not lock up. So I had to ride the brakes all the way down.

Yes the automatic transmissions have come a long way. My earlier 4wd vehicles were manuals. I got the auto this time so other family members could drive it. The 10 speed is so capable I don't miss the stick shift for driving off road at all. Some times I thing the Manual would be a little more fun on road but never off road. With 10 gears they is always a right gear to be in and with manual mode you can shift how you want, even in auto you can override the computer with the button shifter.

The engine braking is so good in low 1st or 2nd that until the off-roadeo I did not use hill descent control because i did not need it.
