So I've pretty much sourced everything ill need for when my Bronco arrives to fully decontaminate and coat it when it arrives. But i got to thinking....

Its going to have a matte hood vinyl similar (exactly, just aftermarket) to the one that comes with the black appearance package.

What are people's opinions on coating the vinyl as well as the paint? should i tape it off and avoid it or just coat it right along with the rest of the hood?

I’ve been using Ceramic spray on vinyl graphics and PPF for years and they’ve always looked new. Just be sure to let the vinyl decal dry before applying ceramic. As far as the matte finish, I think ceramic is your best bet. Ive used it on matte finished surfaces and it looks no different because it usually dries clear with no white residue. IMO, graphics and wraps still need protection from the elements. You could always test a small corner and see how it turns out. But I don’t see it harming the graphic itself for any reson

I guess I’m more worried about about it losing some of the matte and becoming more shiny. Also don’t want to have any high spots, not sure if it’s more susceptible to them being that it’s not as smooth of a surface.

Any “real” ceramic coating will be fine for vinyl graphics either matte, gloss or otherwise and will not meaningfully distort the appearance.
