Does anyone have any techniques to remove mud that’s hardened underneath the undercarriage of the bronco? Short of climbing under?

If you go the pressure washer route, having some ramps to pull up on can help if you don't want to get down closer to the ground.

I tried the power washer and thought I did a solid job rinsing it. Then I took it to the automatic car wash. I looked today and it’s hardened all on most parts like cement. That can’t be good.

Welcome to off roading in many parts of Texas. Especially watch out for Texas black dirt; that stuff is like rubber cement. You just about have to scrape it off.

Put some water on it, get it nice and soaked, and come back a few minutes later and keep doing that, it should soften and fall off. You might also look for a good hand car wash with good water pressure. The second and third (and fourth) passes is what works for me.

Like others stated just soak it all over let it absorb the water then work each section but don't blast any electrical connections.

It seems caked under the front bash plate, and the arms of the steering columns. (Please forgive my lack of nomenclature. I am not mechanically inclined and learning on the fly.) I’m guess the electrical connections are near the front like headlamps etc

You can soak it, but don't let your Bronco stay in the bath too long.

Garden hose on full stream or high pressure to remove most of it. (or pressure washer on light setting). The remainder have to get underneath when it is still wet and soft and use a sponge or cloth with a bucket of water and wife the rest of it off, wringing out the sponge or cloth often.

Sorry, but it is now time to get close and personal to the under carriage of your Bronco. A simple stiff bristle brush & for the detail -crevices- a brass tooth brush, dip the brushes in some Murphy's oil soap while it is securely up on the ramps, remove the bash plates (easy). rinse well, and smile... it is more fun than the dentist.
You will be dirty and recommend keeping your mouth closed... Wear eye protection and a bandanna over your nose and mouth... covid mask could work too...but I personally dislike those stupid things.

Sounds like it’s time to give the Bronco a “GI Party” military style. lol.
