Installed the K&N on my 2.7L. Fairly easy install (with help from neighbor) and saw improvement. Only has 2500 miles or so, but I think the K&N will not need cleaning for a least 50,000 or so (unless you're off-raoding frequently). I'm primarily street. When I do replace, I'll probably purchase new instead of clean. At my rate, I won't need one for a few more years (but I check regularly). On the other hand, I do clean my oil catch can regularly.

I now see that Injen has released their charge pipes for the Injen intake. I have been waiting for this. They make some of the better-looking ones on the market. Combined with their intake, which also keeps the bigger pipe all the way to the turbo, this will be a nice combo.

As to the cleaning, I found that the window does come out, and I did a little test of cleaning it in place. Now I will say that I created a drain hole in my Injen box because I foresaw cleaning may be a bit hard, and I also wanted to replicate the Ford box.
