My dealer has a couple that they are letting reservation holders drive for a day or two until their orders come in. I'm on the list to have it for a couple days sometime next week.

Meanwhile my dealer only lets you do an escorted 1 mile drive around the block. Surprised I wasn’t sitting in the back in a booster seat with a sippy cup.

Same with my local dealer. It is also why I didn't have a problem putting a deposit on the demo as it will barely be used in 6 months and certainly not "tested" hard. It was a strange experience whereas the other local dealer just tossed the keys to me and asked that I bring it back later that day.

I was hoping for the tossed key option. I miss the small town dealer feel. I’m in a military metropolis where they prey off GIs and sailors so can’t expect too much in the way of courtesy.
I do mostly highway to and from work at speeds of 55 so I wanted to see how it felt. I only got up to 45 on the little route.

The nanny dealership demo was a WT and I don't think it got over 30 on the pre-planned route. It's why I didn't hesitate on putting a deposit on it. It will be in like-new condition when it is available for sale. I may or may not follow through with it, but I have secured "dibs" on it with an actual printed up deal at MSRP or lower depending on accrued mileage.

I'll keep Bronco hunting to secure as many options that I can while maintaining my existing order. I'm willing to drive to Iowa to take delivery of my Granger deal so my hunting grounds are extensive as far as I'm willing to travel. I won't pay ADM.
