It was on the Turnpike Orlando - Miami with heavy traffic. Finding a safe place on the shoulder of the highway was challenging to say the least.65 on a south Florida highway seems about 20mph slow around here… mine only has just over 2k miles but I drive the shit out of it
yep, I contacted Ford customer service to see if I can speed things up. At this point, I will assume that they won't put it at the back of the line, but who knows? I will know more tomorrow when the Service Manager at my dealership (Ford Kendall) is back. Keep you postedFour weeks, WTF?
That's exactly what I did, went to neutral and use the momentum to cross the lanes (left to right) to get to the shoulder. Although at that point the car was off (like running out of gas).FWIW, if the engine stops at speed shifting in N is safer than remaining in D.
HI, first the Road Service guy, after checking the battery and some other small stuff come to that conclusion. No gas smell In the engine bay, like it was dry with over half the tank left. Then, the closest dealership (where the car was towed) confirmed the diagnosis among other electrical things. Yesterday, the car was towed to my dealership so I can have it closer to my home and I could get a loner or a rental. Nightmare. So far the towing to Miami, the Uber from Ft. Pierce to Miami, and the rental from Thursday until tomorrow at least is on me. Ford Corp representative confirmed that they will cover the cost.I am curious … how do you know the fuel pump failed?
Me too...double yikes!yikes thats around when mine was built
I'm sure you could run the standard bosche 044 pump inline for a solution. These are used in many aftermarket and race and aircraft ....they work great and are reliable. Is there an aftermarket fuel pump? Wondering if we could just replace it from the get go and never have to worry.
