Does anyone know of, in Forescan perhaps, there is a way to increase the sensitivity of the daylight sensor mounted on the dash?

I installed 3M Crystalline film to the windshield. It does a great job of cutting down the UV and IR rays but unfortunately it also causes the headlights to come on during the day. I would like the DRLs to be on during the day, so I don’t want to shut off the auto-headlight option.

Anyone have any thoughts?

So far have not found a solution for this...not possible in forescan as far as I can tell because the sensor has a fixed impedance.

There is no adjustability. I remember seeing a post on here a while ago of someone removing the top part of the sensor to bring in more light and it seemed to work for them. I can’t find the post though.

Now you have DRLs in the rear, too!

Daytime running taillights, if you will.

Maybe make a small aluminum foil 1/2 ring, short in the front , tapering up and over the back half of the sensor, kind of like a hood, to, go around the back 1/2 of the sensor, and up and over a small portion of the sensor, to reflect light into the sensor, just to see if something like that will work. This would be JUST A TEST, not a permanent solution!!
If it works, you could make something highly reflective to fit around the back of the sensor, that wouldn’t be too esthetically unattractive, for a more permanent solution.
Just an off the wall idea !!!
