Yea, they're trying to avoid that $27k fine for not adhering to stop-sale. Not sure how long they can hold on to the titling work before they have to process it, but yea, looks like they're screwed. However, if your truck DOES qualify for the recall, it does present a safety issue, so you will have to weigh that part out yourself. Maybe take it to another dealer to have it inspected for the issue?
That's the plan. Thanks again.

Pls excuse if this has been answered, but what is the build date for your Bronco? Was it built before 7/23/24?

If the dealer is restricted from selling vehicles subject to the recall, do they have any legal authority at all to abort the processing of paperwork or to repossess the vehicle? Is the $27k fine imposed by Ford or by government? Whatever the case, the sketchy and deceitful behavior by the dealer is alarming.

I am nothing remotely close to a lawyer, so not sure who imposes the fines, but I don't think the dealer has any legal claim to anything. If this were to happen to me, I would take the honest approach, but who knows what his salespersons' manager is asking her to say. Most dealers are not like my store where salespersons are empowered to work deals and problems on their own. What I am confused about is, Ford has SOOOOoooooo many things in place to prevent this from happening, that this is just embarrassing for the dealer. You can't even pull the sales programs on an effected vehicle without seeing this:

I don't understand how this problem made it this far. Even in a store where the salesperson can work their own deals and this was missed, that truck should have never made it past the sales manager's desk and into the business office. IMO: Somebody messed up and they're going that have to eat that $27k fine.

When we were working on the price, she had to go speak to her manager several times. I'm sure they knew about the recall? He should've stopped it there.

Maybe he was just as oblivious to the recall?

Mine was built on 7/23/2024 but didn’t get flagged on the recall. Please keep us updated and best of luck.

I would get in writing that they will replace the suspension with something not under the recall, even something aftermarket that you approve on the same day you bring it back and release it back to you. They screwed up and you shouldn't have to give the truck back to them for 6 months while they wait on Ford for a remedy. If they don't send you plates and you can't drive it you're still in the same boat but it might motivate them to come up with a solution quicker.

The GM is supposed to reach out to me, I'll hear him out and go from there. Good idea though.

I don't see how that can happen, but obviously it did. I can't imagine a sales process that doesn't check for open recalls in any dealer. It's just beyond me.

Was in the exact same situation. Purchased a 24 BD SAS earlier this year. Day before delivery dealer contacted and said there was a stop sale from FoMoCo. Vehicle can not be sold regardless of if they "upgrade " the shocks. Paperwork was shredded and I moved on to a WT that was not affected by the recall. Cancel the transaction and find another one not under the recall. Dealer played a shitty game.
