The "auto" headlights I find are irritating. Lights come on every time I just open a door or unlock the vehicle. High beams go on and off on my very early AM commute, I have to manually flick the lever to get them to stop- every day.

Then on top of that mine has the issue of the lights just coming on randomly or not turning off. It's got to do with the passenger door and when I open it with the vehicle off and parked it messes up the lights. Then when I open the drivers door to get in after the chimes come on- ugh such a pain. I have to manually turn the dial to turn the lights off to get rid of the chimes and just resets every time. From reading some other posts on the subject I believe I have a defective headlight switch. But so hard to get it in to the dealer working, working, working......and my spouse working even more. I do my own maintenance so defects are tough to bring it in to Ford.

As mentioned, if you are looking to stop the Bronco from automatically choosing auto headlights every time you start, you need Forscan. You can set it to always select the last position your headlights were in, like a normal vehicle. ;)

Changing only the asterisk characters from 00 to 01 will prevent reset to auto; it will retain the last selected position.

I disabled mine with SuperChips FlashCal. This way I can change back if I choose with the handheld.

Is there a way to disable the reset to auto lights at each start in the 2024 Broncos… or does it still require Forscan?

I turned off auto high beam and daytime running lamps. Still resets to auto at start.

You can switch the headlight switch from always auto on startup to last position on startup using Forscan. It is a plaintext selectable option in the BCM.
Hello,
I looked in Forscan and couldn't locate " BCM " Any chance you could tell me what it is listed under?
I have a 2024 BD Sasquatch 2 door.
Thanks and I hope your Holidays were great.

I honestly can't remember, its been a long time since I was in there. Somewhere on this forum is an excel doc with all the Forscan settings, that's where I would have gotten it from.

Thanks. Yeah ive seen it before but been awhile. My lights keep turning on after engine off. Changed switch reset bcm bms etc. still happening. Just ordered bms sensor at neg battery, gonna try that next. Any suggestions. Dealership said accessories are drawing to much power but dont beleive them, they suck. All accessories have been removed from battery

Good. I'm getting sick of all the dipshits who can't figure out how to turn their headlights on.
Biggest pet peeve of mine, people driving in low-light situations with their headlights off. See it quite often in the winter on my way home, or in the morning during summer - twilight, dark road, all of a sudden there's a vehicle there I didn't see because the guy didn't have lights on. The auto setting is there so that doesn't happen.

Personally, I'd rather see the switch go away completely, so the lights are ALWAYS auto-on...and if you need them off (pulling into your driveway late at night trying not to wake your spouse up) you've got to push and HOLD a button to keep them off.
