I ended up going ppf specifically to discourage people from using it as a step. It's protected from bumps and accidents but doesn't encourage it's use during entry or exit.

I received two 54" sections of 4" PPF today to use on the door sills. My buddy's 7 year old son is the only person who will end up using the sills as a step on my 2 door, but I want protection from my own shoes and such dragging over those corners. I put masking tape there until now to prevent damage.

We have found our Xpel Door Sill protection works great to keep the paint free from dragging your shoes out. No one ever intended to use the sill as a step, but unfortunately the edge is left unprotected, even with OEM sill guards. I personally have a 2" lift, no steps and still knock them getting in and out. It's a great piece of insurance, especially when it's Xpel PPF and optically clear!
