I want to lift my engine compartment fuse box to figure out how I can mount a bracket under or near it to mount an oil bypass filter behind it.

I have searched online for a video to help but came up with nothing. I can't find any information in my Ford Service manual either. Does anyone have advice has to how to remove this fuse box?

I am hoping I don't have to totally remove it but will if necessary. I have looked at it and can't see an obvious way to do it. I know the first thing to do is disconnect the negative battery cable and wait three minutes. From there I guess I will just have to start unscrewing nuts and see what happens if I can't get any advice here. I just prefer not to disconnect things I don't need to or will create a new problem.

Thanks for any help.

How much room do you need? I fabbed a bracket for my fuse panel. It uses existing holes near the battery tray

I bought a smaller high capacity battery and then cut and bent the battery box to allow room for a remote oil filter...heres pics.

The battery junction box is mounted below the fuse block. The underside of the fuse block has electrical style connections and snap/clip into several relays below it. I believe the fuel pump relay is one of them. Each bolt (3 of them) you remove secures a different connector. These connections can come loose and cause total loss of power.

I agree the workshop manual is completely void of any service instructions. Probably because the part is replaceable as a whole unit only.

Unfortunately, I need more room. I need the space behind the fuse box. I will keep this in mind if i can use it in any way. Thank you.

Great idea and install. I plan to use a higher capacity battery to power my refrigerator. I don't think I can make this work. Thanks for taking the time to share.

This is extremely helpful. That could get me to the point where I can see if there are bolts I can use for a bracket that I can fabricate and use for my bypass filter. I may have to go deeper but I don't know if I want to mess with that stuff. I will have to decide on that when I get there. Thank you very much.
