Yeah, the paint is failing, either from solvents or poor prep or application of the paint. It 'could' be a manufacturing defect.
If it had been painted more than once, the second coat can sometimes soften the underlying paint and cause the wrinkling you see.... at that point it will eventually flake off.

And as already said, it may have been due to something applied after delivery. Alcohol wipes during 'C****' were notorious for damaging finishes.

There are aftermarket steering wheel trims avail. Do you like the carbon fiber look?

I‘m with the never use anything made by ArmorAll camp. In the ’90s, you knew who used ArmorAll because our cars all had brown tires and brown molding from using it. I really wouldn’t be surprised if their wipes are your culprit here. :mad:

I'm less than 2 months into owning my bronco and my steering wheel is fading?! WTF! Anyone else experiencing this? I havent done anything or put any chemicals, its garaged, but it looks like my truck is 10 years old already. Who can I contact???
