Finally got an OEM roof rack - then it arrives damaged!

Got a text that the roof racks were back in stock. Was able to get one ordered with the September discount. Was stoked when it arrived and was shocked at the damage. The box was in good shape. Interesting though that one of the rails were packaged differently than the other. The one with the subpar packaging had this stout plastic piece that mounts above the windshield snapped in half. It would take a lot of force to have this happen. Called Ford, they said I have to ship the entire thing back and they will ship out another one when they are back in stock. Who knows how long that will take? Guessing past snowboard season. Was really hoping they would simply ship the part. SMH

Did you ask then if they could just send the oart?

Have them contact their FAD who can reach out to the company rep that makes them. Had a few instances where the package was shorted or damaged and either got the part from the FAD or maker direct shipped to the customer.

Yeah, I insisted they just send the part. Put me on hold to ‘talk to the supervisor’. Was told ‘no’.

That sucks man. They sent me a jacked up tailgate table and I was told the same thing. I was not happy. At least they were in stock.

I ordered Ford rock rails. They shipped from Fred Jones. Got them with a big gouge in the side through the paint. Box wasn't damaged. I wasn't going to ship them back for that, but still. Probably never order Ford accessories from Ford online again. Discount was nice though and shipping was affordable.

So i don't know, but maybe it is the shipper ford is using that is the problem.

I only remember the name because Fred Jones is also on scooby doo

I have no luck finding who makes these for Ford. I found the company that makes the Bronco Sport roof rack so I called them. They said they would gladly send me the replacement part to avoid an RMA but they only do the Sport, not full size.

Same exact thing just happened to me for both long rails. Anyone ever find out who makes these things? Dealership has to order a new one and now I have to hold this thing until the new one arrives so I can ship it back… silly considering it is one bolt that holds the plastic piece in..:

I had one on order since July. On Fri they cancelled my order saying they don’t know when they will receive. I was not happy. Luckily I found a used / take off from another member and saved myself a bunch of money!
