Auto insurance?? Through Ford? I think they can get you a binder until your car is insured by your own insurance company. That’s how are used to do it. But now it’s all done almost instantaneously with your insurance company before you leave the dealership. Anyway, I’d use Geico or progressive…

Its not Ford insurance. I tried to get a quote from the company Ford is partnering with (Its Nationwide) , but the agent only gave me a verbal guess, and refused to send a written quote (so I could accurately compare) until I was ready to "bind" the coverage. I said I wasnt binding anything until I saw it in writing, so I abandoned the effort. Went with my long time Allstate.

The Ford insurance arrangement did require using the Ford Pass app to allow the insurance co to track the vehicle to discover driving habits. All very iffy and nebulous.

Regarding the Ford Credit offer, I did get pre-approved for an adequate amount for 72 months, but Ford refused to provide the interest rate, saying the dealer would do that, but once at the dealer, they found "better" terms with a major bank I've used before and that was fine with me. Dealers do get deals with certain banks, depending on credit score.

So I used neither Ford offer, but I did get a nice car at MSRP.

Huh, chalk that up as number 87 of the emails I never received from Ford. What a cluster.
