Definitely will switch models and may just wait out the first year. But I have faith they won't do that to us. The launch vehicles all have great looking interiors and, if there was ever a question about how the navy would be received, the negative reaction in the forums has more than answered it.

With all the problems in the world, this all seems silly, but the new Bronco has been a nice distraction. The solution is relatively easy and Ford will have a few thousand of their biggest proponents happy and continuing to sing the praises of the Bronco.

Maybe they are playing games, maybe they are not. Nobody will know until Aug. Interior options are typically standardized in a BOM. I see no reason why they can not offer multiple FE options.

Just let us choose the black / brown (roast) and stamp a first edition signature on the headrest. Boom.

I did some comparison baed on the decoded list from 72roadster last night between the First Edition and the Badlands with the options required to outfit it to the same level as the First Edition.

Badlands will require the following added to get back up to what the First Edition already has included:
• 2.7L engine option
• 10 spd automatic
• Sasquatch package
• Lux package
• Brush guard
• Hard Top Sound Deadening Headliner
• Floor Liners, Front and Rear
• Remote Start System
• Storage Bag - Front Row Roof Panels & Door
• Modular Hard Top, Shadow Black-Painted

My guess is adding all of this would result in a price the same or MORE than the First edition!

Ive been thinking about it all morning. If Im not getting an FE I may as well just wait til August and get a 2022 in Velocity Blue. ?
Yeah, I just reserved a WildTrax this morning? I wish I would have pulled the trigger earlier but I was in denial. I now realized I dont want navy interior and will not pay over MSRP. I likely went from month 1 to month 3 of the release... FML

The Granger dealer said you can downgrade from an FE to another trim choice.

If the Badlands costs more than the First Edition, will probably have to keep my reservation and get seat covers.

has anyone ever done custom interior? i wonder how much additional itll be to get that fancy "one off" interior in there...

its just aggravating.. i have a loaded golf cart that i was able to pick out every freakin piece / color in... i should at least have more than puke blue as an option for interior.

like... a good interior? thousands. and still probably wont look factory, they are not going to predict how it will wear, you'll end up with wrinkles and possibly tears eventually.

plus youll be put to a decision whether you incorporate the 2nd row (depends if your wallet can handle it). the door and console may or may not match as well.

custom interior, even on a 50 or 60k car is quite unrealistic.

You can toss some slip covers over it, sure... but that will look and feel not great.

best chance is to replace the seats entirely with something like recaros. eliminate the issue entirely, but now you may lose heated or power function thats standard on FE. some recaros have some of that, YMMV.
i really appreciate the depth of your reply, that helps me.

also when i read 'possibly tears' i definitely read it as 'possibly tears' <-- as in crying, which i also think is true

Katzkins are an option too, but you'd need an upholstery guru to fix the armrests on the console and doors.

I personally would like to replicate a ‘77 as much as possible. I would really like to be able to build an FE similar to the 4D in the launch vid. All the bells and whistles with the off white/grey interior with a white hardtop on Cactus Grey. I would then match the flares to the top. I really think the FE should have been the most retro package. Sorry for the rambling....

Hey man. I love the black/brown interior...but I want it as an option for Badlands too. Why should First Edition only get it. I'm a little irritated by that simply because I'm in Canada and don't even have the option to buy a First Edition...

If I had to guess...

2.7EB + 10-AT =$2500
Sasquatch Package = $3000 (cheaper on Badlands)
Lux Package = $5000
Brush Guard = $500
Hard Top Sound Deadening = Included with Lux
Floor Liners = not needed with rubber flooring in the Badlands
Remote Start System = Included with Lux
Storage Bags = $500 (applicable for 4DR only)
Modular Hardtop Upgrade = $1000 (applicable for 4DR only)

So I’d guesstimate ~$12000 in options for the 4DR which would bring it to about $56K and the 2DR would be about $10500 in options bringing it to about $52K. So still ~$8K less for a loaded Badlands compared to a First Edition if I had to guess. Even if I’m a few thousand off I don’t think a First Edition would be cheaper.

The First Edition gets the gray/blue interior. And from early “leaks” it looks to be the only option. The black/brown option may be available for other trims as well.
