I reserved a two door FE the other night as well. I was reservation # 10123522. However, I want a manual FE. A stick is a must have for me. I saw the FE spec page listed a manual transmission option (see below) so I spent the rest of the night trying to get a reservation. Now I figure out you can't get a stick shift on the FE. WTF? I hope they let me change.

I would put in a back up reservation. That's what I did, placed one for 4dr Wildtrack incase the dealer tries to screw me on price or if I cant change dealers .

the order numbers aren’t chronologically sequential, even within the same model/number of doors based on those reported. Me, I’m a 4-Dr FE 10118xxx reserved at ~8:30pm eastern. I think there are both higher numbers before me and lower numbers after me.

edit: also, it’s very clear the MT won’t be on the FE. The FE only comes with the V6.

Weird question I guess, but...

Anyone have any thoughts / adjacent examples to determine how the FE might depreciate? Right now I have the FE reserved, but I'm sort of impartial unless the FE might be worth something some day.

As someone said somewhere on this site (and I kind of agree with them) when next year's whatever model comes out the FE will be yesterday's news. I am not sure it will hold any real value above other models like Badlands or Wildtrack. From what we have seen so far, the only unique feature is some stickers. But we probably haven't seen everything just yet either.

I have never bought an FE and have no experience with this so take my opinion as you will but I have followed along a lot of other FE releases and I never hear about them again once they are out.

All that said, I am in the reservation line for an FE - and I am excited for it!

Interesting. I'll do some research on this but I think you're probably right. At least we should have optionality as FE res'v holders.

I don't understand limiting the paint choices on FE. I would understand exclusive colors for the trim, but not the other way around. Come on Ford!

I agree with this. I'm happy I can get Area 51, that's all I wanted, but I don't understand that decision.

They probably Limited Paint options because of the limited interior colors.

I was being a little dramatic with the sticker part...

The FEs also come with a unique interior - Leather heated, 10-way adjustable seats and you do not see that listed on any other model.

I think the 10 way seats are only on the 4 door according to the equipment list I was reading today.

As for value. First year models and limited editions are generally more collectible. But what are you going to do? Not off-road an off-road vehicle? Stick it in a garage and pay insurance on it, maintain it and maybe 40 years from now it will be worth what you paid for it? :)

I think the answer will be when it comes down to exactly what we get with the FE. If the interior is nothing special (I read in a post [factory rep responded on twitter] the saddle leather was a one-off and not a factory option) and the extras are blah, it might not be worth anything extra. In that case I'll bump down and get Velocity Blue!

But hopefully the extras are good, or the options end up being worth more than purchased separately. Then it would at least be a good deal.

Yeah, somebody said elsewhere the colors are likely limited to limit the available colors needed in the special interior--stitching color?
