Pepe had his first outing today in the Sonoran Desert amongst the Ocotillo and Saguaro. What an awesome experience to be able to access the trails miles back into the hills and valleys. We were less than 30 miles from the house but could have been in the middle of nowhere for all you could see were hills, scrub and cacti in every direction. Next time we are packing a cooler so we can have lunch back there.
Pepe was a good boy climbing up and down 11-degree hills and 19-degree embankments, such a work horse. He was rewarded with his first bubble bath at home this evening. There is just something so relaxing about covering your car with a sheet of foam and then just listening to it drip onto the driveway for a few minutes.
Next weekend I’m taking him to Sycamore Creek where I understand there are miles of dry riverbed where we can try out Baja mode At least that’s the plan if my new air compressor kit and adjustable tire deflators arrive this week. We are going to get very dirty!
