I thought about being “selective” but the amount of cars that I come across around here is enough to where I’d just feel like a commercial airline pilot flipping switches.

Plus, have you ever seen a speed trap on a dirt road? That was a first for me, and thankfully I was taking it easy that day.

Lot of police looking for revenue opportunities, and in some locations around me, arguably not enough given how badly people drive.
Good points if any population can't use high power lights it and yes this summer i came across a radar trap on a deserted side road thankfully the R4 picked it up.

I have the 3 light pocket kit but honestly wish I had only gone with 2.

I run DD SAE fogs wired to my factory fog lights - and those I leave on with my headlights, so they get used constantly. I made a good faith attempt at aiming them legit and haven’t been pulled over for them in the year I have been running them (knock on wood)

The others … I’ve only used a handful of times off road, and while they are bright independantly - but not twice as bright together. I have them aimed differently to help somewhat off road but I could have easily saved a couple hundred on that other set of lights and not missed it for the amount of use they actually get.

I have DD SAE fog and driving pods along with BD ditch lights and KC spots all clear lenes…I run the fogs (they are really good) a lot with the headlights (and have never been flashed)…use the driving lights (they are bright) on the road when no one is around…the ditch (would be useful on road for seeing the sides in deer country but I don‘t need the ticket) and spots are for off road and are covered on road…don’t do much high speed off road running so the KCs are mostly for looks but they do light things up…I am not a fan of yellow/amber lights (do have them on my model A for old time look)…

along with BD ditch lights
Nice rig …

Oldhippie can I ask what BD ditch lights did you get?

I am looking at their driving combo. Not sure if yellow or white.

Does yours make any highway noise?

I am thinking of a lower bracket, purchased or home made…
For keeping light off of the hood and noise

tks

our Baja designs ditch kits offer you the option for a low profile mount - mainly keeps the cowl pieces nice and secure

The driving/combo is the most popular optic

here is our optional bracket shown on the truck

They are the S2 sport driving /flood combo on some eBay mounts aimed outward…good coverage on trails with little ”spill” on the hood…not sure if they are making much noise with the tire noise and all the other wind noises…good luck!

Diodedynamics!
SS3 pro white SAE driving (act as auxiliary high beams).
SS3 pro amber SAE fog (bad weather fogs).
SS2 pro white SAE fog (mild fog lights, have mine angled slightly outwards). Normal driving fogs.

IMO, best bang for the buck while all being street legal.

I’m not sure which level I go, but it’ll probably be that setup with the white lights next to each other to appear compliant with the maximum number of “lights” under state law.

If you can only have 2 lights, I'd get 2x SS3 pros. Either 2 fogs, white and amber, or 1 fog 1 driving.

Oh, the limit is on illuminated lights - 4 total.

So one could have headlights (2) and fog lights (2), but not driving lights (2) on at the same time…

Unless it looks like the fog/driving is the same “light”.

Not technically legal in my locale either, but the white Pro fog and drive together makes for great illumination in those backroads with trees on both sides where deer can pop out anytime. Almost like a Combo pattern, in the aggregate. (Moneyball anyone?)
Seven of them crossed in front of me on my last trip, plus one sweet little possum chewing on scraps in the middle of the road.

+1, the pro driving are as good if not better than the factory high beams.

OP, yes, you could run them one at a time, or tell the cop 1x main beam, and 3x fog beams for a total of 4 (per side! 😜🤣).
