Ford Bronco Slideout Tailgate finally available as an accessory!

Installed mine today. Pretty straightforward, simple installation. However, there is one step that has me puzzled. When adding the tailgate itself and bolting it down onto the mounts near the swing gate, the bolts never tightened down properly. I was using a torque wrench set to the specified 18 ft. lbs. but they actually started spinning in place, feeling like they were stripped.

I didn't think much of it and installed the other two bolts that mount to the Bronco, near the seats. Those torqued just fine.

Hopefully I didn't booger anything up too badly.

what trim do you have? Do you have the mix package or an aftermarket subwoofer? Still trying to find out if this thing rattles with subwoofers lol

Badlands Sasquatch Lux. Sound system is stock. I'll update this thread if I hear a rattle, but don't usually listen to bumpin' beats, at least that loudly.

Yeah, that's the issue I'm running in to as well.

It is a weight thing and to some extent a limitation issue. You can add it to the Wildtrak, but you cannot have it with the the light duty factory skid plates. Similarly can't get it with Sasquatch and other trims with Factory skid plates. Additionally ford seem to limit it on ordering on some lower trims. It will fit any 4 dr bronco and can be added aftermarket. But Ford has to stick within the GVWRs.

It was also unavailable to build on my 4 door badlands. Assuming it was a weight thing as well as my truck is the second fattest of the fleet I believe. Sucks the price when building the truck was 600 and now its 1200.

Don't you hate how OEM stuff is so damn overpriced?? I love having only original equipment on my stuff but damn 1300 bucks is alot. looks well built and worth some money but that does seem just a bit steep. I kinda feel its double the price it should be. $650 bucks for a sliding shelf should be more than enough and make a little profit at scale. no incentive not to rip folks off.

Anyone who has this accessory, is it really strong enough for a couple of guys to sit on? I'm thinking of getting it for the flat floor, but being able to sit on it is pretty cool.

Yep. Sat on it with my wife the other day. Holds up to 600 lbs.

I just called my local dealer who told me it was on back order and they warned me it could be a “while” before it showed up. But it was there within a week.
