Again, I have not heard of a single report of Bronco issues due to it being installed. If it eases your mind go for it - I think it's silly, but it's your decision and I fault no one for spending their $$ as they see fit.
If you install this tune at home and your cam phasers go out 2 months later or your alternator goes out or drop a valve or any component covered by the bumper to bumper/powertrain you are paying out of pocket for it. It completely voids the bumper to bumper and powertrain warrany your bronco comes with new. That’s why people have the dealer install it. I guess I should have been more clear.

This is something that really needs clarification from Ford because it gets repeated here so often it's been generally accepted as fact. I don't believe it is.

I have not seen anything on the FPP site that indicates it voids the factory warranty if not installed by a non-tech.

The warranty states:
  • 3 year/36k mile warranty from new vehicle in-service when installed by a Ford dealer or ASE/Red Seal certified technician
That, to me, reads that the TUNE has a warranty that can be voided if not installed by a Ford or ASE tech. It by no means indicates that the entire warranty of your vehicle is voided.

Per this document: https://performanceparts.ford.com/download/PDFS/fpp-warranty.pdf

Performance Packs and Components are warranted for factory-supplied material or workmanship when correctly and completely installed on a late model Ford vehicle by an authorized Ford or Lincoln Dealer, Shelby American, Inc., or an automotive service technician certified by the Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or endorsed by the Red Seal Program (RSE). This Performance Packs and Components Limited Warranty begins upon installation and registration of the part(s) with Ford Performance and remains in effect for the balance of 36 months or 36,000 miles / 60,000 kilometres, whichever occurs first, calculated from the start date of the manufacturer's New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

Installation of these select Ford Performance warranted performance packs and components by an authorized installer will NOT void your New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

Engine, driveline and suspension concerns not caused by the use of Ford Performance parts remain eligible for warranty coverage according to the terms of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty
Now, the above does not explicitly state that having it installed by a non-Ford or ASE tech WILL void your limited or powertrain warranty either, so there is some area left to interpretation. The second sentence in yellow seems to indicate that anything not affected by the tune is covered.

That's my take, perhaps others agree or disagree. Again, It would be nice to get official word from Ford because it has caused a lot of confusion and potentially people spending more money and time than necessary.

Its forsure wishy washy, at the end of the day I was quoted $150 for install. It’s a hard pill to swallow but it would be an even harder pill to swallow if had to pay for a new motor.

Just for clarification, since many seem to get this wrong, the Procal tune is through Ford Racing, not Ford. They are NOT the same company.

You need to speak to your dealer. I did and was assured that if I installed the tune that it absolutely will not void my engine warranty. He did say if an issue would not be covered IF they concluded that the tune caused it. I'm willing to accept that risk just like it did when I tuned my F150 after 5k miles with an aftermarket tuner - 120k miles later, not one issue. The aftermarket tuner is magnitudes more aggressive than the FP tune. Just like any mod, you have to determine whet you're willing to risk.

Wrong. Ford Performance is a division of Ford Motor Company.

So what's the concensus is this worth it? Car is in production. Doesn't look like My dealer comes up as an installer. Not really wanting to drive for this.

Exactly my point, they are not the same company.
We have different ideas of same company then. Do FP profits/liabilities effect FMC coffers? If the answer is yes, then I say it's the same company.

It’s not hard to do. I am just covering myself for anything down the road for that grey area that ford doesn’t directly communicate. The yellow text in that previous post basically .. that being said , the (2nd) dealership I went to couldnt get code to work. They made me contact ford performance ( when I called they asked why dealership didn’t just call to handle it ) & now I’m basically at last step. Week later , I am in contact w my regular dealership ( who didn’t want to do it at first) to finish it up for partial labor cost , so I can keep the warranty part intact (see if this happens , waiting for call back Monday)… other place is nuts trying to charge me full price & do all the leg work & set up for them….

It's definitely worth it. We have tons of customers running this and have years of excellent feedback on them.

So it’s finally installed after having to verify my code w ford performance. One Dealer ship told me I had to do it. Once I did , it was basically ready to install. Ended up at another dealership to complete the install to keep warranty & it was WAAAYYY cheaper than anyone else….. lazy 1st dealer ship saved me a bunch of $ , 2nd dealership gave me a deal cuz I did all legwork to call to get tool prepared ….& install only took 30 min. Prob best outcome I could ask for. Warranty , it was cheap , and it’s a lot of fun w extra HP.

Just do you. I personally did it myself and I have no worries about my warranty. It's not a huge upgrade if you have the 2.7, so don't feel you have to get it.

I purchased from Lethal Performance. I pulled up a video on YouTube with step by step how to install. I couldn't believe it was so easy. Had it done in 20min and never looked back. No telling what FoMoCo would or wouldn't warranty stock or tuned if I break something. It's been well over a year with nothing but smiles. The transmission shift behavior and stop-start fix were worth the price. The additional HP and TQ are gravy. Easily my first mod if I had to do it all over again.
