there is an entire tread on this forum about the 2.7 engine failures…

ITS NOT A SUPPOSED PROBLEM
i’m well aware of the 2.7 engine failures thread. From what i’ve read, it affects a limited number of 2021 2.7 engines. I doubt it affects 26,000 units. From what I understand, Ford only sold 35k +/- Broncos in 2021 and all of them were not 2.7’s. The 67 failures represents something like .5% (a half of one percent) OR LESS of 2.7L Broncos sold last year.

To me this would not warrant a recall as any failures are very limited in number would already be fully covered under your factory 5yr/60k powertrain warranty.

I have a 2021 First Edition 2.7L with a Julian date right smack dab in the middle of the “hot zone” for failures. Day 181 (June 30th). Daily driven 8900 miles so far without issue.

I was questioning your original post that said there was a problem with 2.7 “valve covers” that was causing engines to fail.

I am keeping an eye out for the recall re the 2.7 engine valve covers destroying engines .
This is/was not a thing and the reason why I questioned it. I now understand that you meant valves. That did not occur to me initially.

Fully expected this (recalls). My wife's family is all Ford. Her first 3 cars were an Escort, Tempo, and then an Explorer. The Explorer probably had 20 recalls over its life (and it is still chugging along, now owned by one of her friends).

The windshield one sucks because they have to keep my car for a day, and I have to hope they don't f something up in the process (like break the windshield).

The child locks were no big deal and they took care of that during an oil change.

I expect 2 a year for the first 5 years...

FYI, just had my first warranty failure, my windshield washer pump went out. 2 weeks to schedule an appointment...
Hi there! Could you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership information? I can look into things on my end.

Ford has been super sensitive to defects since the whole Explorer/Firestone debacle. They tend to be quick to send out a recall and address the problem, which is not a bad thing. You can see some other manufactures know of defects but don't issue a recall unless they have too. And every vehicle, especially a new design is going to have some defects.

Dealers not able to get the windshield recall done makes me nervous. Ford not providing a replacement ride while it takes days to completethe recall iis ridiculous. We have to shell out $500 after paying over $40k on a rental so Dealer techs can fix a factory screw up. Dealer techs unable to troubleshoot simple windows rattle issues. All these things make me nervous

Years ago, I read about a "silent recall" in Automotive News, regarding the Ford Aerostar. My brother had an Aerostar, so I suggested he inquire about it at the local dealership. He ended up with a new engine. My understanding at the time, of what a "silent recall" meant, was only fix those cars if someone makes an inquiry about a strange noise coming from the engine. I believe the days of "silent recalls" are long gone.

I retired several years ago after 35 years with Ford in a technical field job. I took a part time job as shop foreman at a dealership after I retired, so I’ve seen all of this from both sides of fence. I can say that recalls are a fact of life for all manufacturers, there are so many safety and emissions regulations to keep up with that some things slip by. Also, Ford committed years ago to get out in front of recalls and product quality issues and not wait until they got drug out by the media. Many of the non-safety, non-emissions concerns that they issue non-recall customer satisfaction campaigns on now would have just been taken care of under normal warranty repairs in the past. Plus, many of the actions are just software updates related to all the electronic gadgets cars have on them now. So, no recall volume really isn’t anything to be worried about in my experience.

It's a good thing you guys can't see my Ford website with all of the different recalls and programs, you'd shit a brick. To be fair, the majority are inspections, software updates and things that might only be an issue on <1% of the vehicle affected. The face palm stuff that drives me nuts are the windshield adhesion, wiper arm and generally most of the stupid software stuff that we lose our asses on because Ford doesn't pay enough to do.

The ones that worry me are the hand grenade air bags people still don't bring in to get fixed, fires due to overloaded wiring circuits and other stuff that can result in, injury, loss of life or property. Granted some of these recalls are on older vehicles but we're seeing a lot more on stuff fresh out of the plant.

Find me a new vehicle released that doesn't have recalls... it's normal for any car manufacturer.

Here’s what my driveshaft boot looks like right now . The material they used for the boot is cheap.

Hell Yeah! I have a 22 fullsize Big bend 2.3 with 7k mile. I completely lost power this past Monday. Roadside picked it up and sent to dealer. Got an update today that cylinder 3 & 4 injectors are cracked.
Parts should take about 3 - 4 days to arrive.
Fingers crossed 🤞🏾

No they don't. Let me know when I am getting a my new block on my 17, 2.0 escape?

Still waiting for a new hood on my 14 Mustang.

Worst of all, the "recall" for brake lines on my 17 Fusion Sport means nothing
if they don't replace the lines. Inspect today, leaks next week, that's GREAT!!!
