Hell, I even had the Firestone tire recall on a 2000 Exploder, got another year's use before Ford bought me a set of tires.
Got lucky. Mine threw the tread (both rear tires) after 900 miles on my brand new 98. If you didn't know better you would think they were re-caps.

Both Ford and Firestone pointed fingers at each other and told me to go F myself. I had Wilderness HT tires. They only ever did a recall on the Wilderness AT tires. I'm pretty pissed that my new Bronco came with Bridgestones.

Nope.

and not sure I'd call something that depreciates as soon as you drive it off the lot an investment.
I mean anything that you’d put that much money into in a way is an investment. Doesn’t need to be something that necessarily makes you money. Could simply be something that provides value to you in any way and it would be nice to know that product has value. But to each their own and to each will define value differently.

I knew when I hit post I would probably find someone who had a bad experience with them. I hope you and yours stayed safe through the ordeal. Mine were ATs. When browsing tires I've noticed Firestone/Bridgestone are quite expensive for having that bad rep.

Latest on the Escape and Bronco Sport fires:

"Under the new recall, Ford dealers will install a software update that will detect a possibly cracked injector. If an injector crack is detected, a warning light will show in the vehicle’s dashboard and engine power will be reduced. This will allow the driver to find a safe place to pull over, stop and call for service, Ford said. Ford dealers will also install a tube that will drain leaked fuel down onto the ground and away from hot surfaces in the vehicle. The needed work will be performed at no cost to the SUVs’ owners."

LOL. How about a fuel system that doesn't leak? Install a tube that will drain leaked fuel away from the engine? WTF

Every other week there seems to be a new report of another Automotive manufacturer recalling thousands of vehicles due to what seem like big deal recalls (engine failures, fires, big failures). I hear this morning the latest from Ford effecting Bronco Sport and Escape models but a recall of almost 650,000 vehicles… wow.

Now I know the Broncos recalls have been pretty small - just some window adhesion and software bugs it seems thus far, but is anyone getting nervous about their investment in the company with these new Broncos? Me personally this will be the first Ford vehicle I’ve ever owned and really my first introduction to the company. I know recalls are pretty common for almost all manufacturers but Fords recalls especially this last year number wise are way above the other manufacturers?
Welp, first its not an investment. No car is. Secondly get off vehicle forums unless you want to be scared that your pride n joy is a piece of crap. Most people arent on forums and are quite happy with purchase. 3rd never buy a 1st or 2nd year vehicle if youre scared of recalls. Common for any new vehicle, new engine etc. Enjoy!

I've been the proud owner of many Ford vehicles over the last 42 years. Never been dissatisfied. A recall means they are making an attempt to fix the problem. I'd rather have a recall on my vehicle than a product some doctor installed to repair a problem with my body.

Fully expected this (recalls). My wife's family is all Ford. Her first 3 cars were an Escort, Tempo, and then an Explorer. The Explorer probably had 20 recalls over its life (and it is still chugging along, now owned by one of her friends).

The windshield one sucks because they have to keep my car for a day, and I have to hope they don't f something up in the process (like break the windshield).

The child locks were no big deal and they took care of that during an oil change.

I expect 2 a year for the first 5 years...

FYI, just had my first warranty failure, my windshield washer pump went out. 2 weeks to schedule an appointment...

No.

Ford isn’t the first manufacturer to have a recall and they won’t be the last. They’re not even the first to have recalls on a first run of a new vehicle.

Heck I had a 2016 Tundra Limited that ended up with a fuel tank strap recall after it had been on the road for like 3 years. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Recalls happen, and there’s nothing wrong with getting one. Take your Bronco in and they do all the work for free. Free labor, free parts, and depending on your dealer you might get free coffee and snacks.

I trade in my vehicles once they hit 60k miles just to be safe. Or get a warranty.

No.

I love Ford stays in touch with me by mail almost weekly between my SD and Bronco. It’s terrific! I’m currently stacking up the recall letters(there are a few) so dealer can work on both rigs while I’m out of town for Xmas. I figured I’ll give them plenty of time.

All you negative Nancy’s moaning about your time, fuel, and inconvenience…pffft.

A little concerned cause it’s a pain to get recall fixes taken care of. Took two weeks trying to schedule a recall for escape and the soonest I was able to get is Jan 16. The next soonest was Jan 22, then other dealers never contacted me back after several tries and I had the 2nd closest dealer want to schedule me till July. 👎🏼
