By chance does anyone know what would happen if you removed the dampers behind the front grill? Trying to mount a winch in as close as possible. Removing those would help.

@LSOR have a look at this post to see what is all back there. Now that I have dug into it I think I may cut the center section out of the bumper so I can lower and tuck a winch in there as much as possible.

If unplugging the servo throws a code you can always just strip it out of the house and tuck it behind the skid plate so it is still plugged in but not doing anything.

Some of the old ecoboost F150's had a condensation issue. I think the shutters helped with it. But I think they have figured out how to design them better now, so it shouldn't be an issue.

What exactly are these stupid things for anyway?
As someone who lives on the surface of the sun, I want as much air flowing across the radiator as possible.

They're called active grill shutters. They close at higher speeds to reduce drag and increase gas mileage.

Improves aerodynamics as has already been said but also helps the engine warm up faster. Both are good for your wallet.

I would imagine (or at least hope) that they would also function as a winter front to keep engine temperatures up in the extreme cold.
