Are you a owner or work for a dealership .Not unless ford changed there mind and I dont remember anything about ford wanting people to cancel orders I know Ford stoped taking orders but I am sure when 2023 orders open up and most reservation still not filled Ford well be right back in the same spot taking more orders then they can fill. Please site. Not calling you out but I don't recall seeing or hearing this. Ford is asking us to cancel orders when requested by customers or when we know the customer isn't going to take. This is for reservations/orders that don't have assigned VINs. This is to help clear out some of the backlog in the scheduling system, allow customers to move up in the dealer's order group and help curtail the abandoned order ADM mess some dealers are engaged in.
I know they've said their intent is to build as many orders as possible but if they don't have components they are going to try and keep the plant working by building "stock". I don't know if that is still the plan but it was last year. We didn't see any "stock" last year nor have been told there would be any incoming. If we did, the plan is to offer it to one of our current reservation holders with the understanding their standing reservation gets cancelled. I don't see that happening because it doesn't appear there's much significant production taking place.
