Goodyear RT replacement

Ive got 6100 miles on my 2025 Badlands Sasquatch with the LT315/70R17 Goodyear RTs. All was balanced and no vibration until I traveled 500 miles each way to the Tennessee Bronco event. During this trip I started to get serious vibration in front end from 45-85 mph.

Took vehicle to dealer who confirmed with Roadforce that 3 of 5 tires were defective with road force between 45-50.

Goodyear is replacing under "courtesy" replacement but that leaves me paying taxes and labor. I believe this should be covered under actual warranty and not through courtesy tire manufacturer replacement. Im getting tires done and then dealing with the $100 in labor/taxes. Not really worth fighting too much over but has anyone gone through this before? Anyone having these same issues with the RTs? My MTs lasted 50k miles without a need for balance without a whisper or vibration.

$100 for a new set of tires really isn’t such a bad deal, even with only 6500 miles on them.

but yeah, defective tires seem to be a full on warranty issue - but they also could be considered as consumables.

Not on GY but other OEM tires that came up defective - a set of Michellins that wore through the tread at 12,000 miles

Michelin offered “pro rated courtesy replacement in kind” rather than any kind of warranty. Ford says tires are under their own warrnaty, Michelin says OeM tires are warrntied by the vehicle manufacturer, dealer just stuck their fingers in their ears and wouldnt help or replace the tires - made me attempt to go through a third party Michelin dealer even though they were listed as the local dealer.

We just chucked the tires, ate the loss and got Falkens.

I have quite a few customers who shift from the Goodyears to the Falkens with positive feedback. Based on what you shared, that does seem like a true defect issue.

There is a difference between OE and aftermaket Goodyears even with same name.

Ive always loved aftermarket Good Years. Firestone Destination XT are amazing and, arguably, based on some tests, outperform Falken a lot. I so like Falken though had FK510 on Mustang and were quiet, great traction, and comfortable unlike many others. Fast wearing ...just how I like it.

Tire warranty issues, like battery warranty issues, are always a can of worms (separate warranty, prorated, system problems, user error…). You are lucky getting new tires only paying tax & labor…

Problem solved. Three new non-oem tires and amazingly they were all zeros on the road force compared to almost 50 with the OE ones. Feels like a new Bronco again.

For those saying im lucky or whatever getting new tires for $100, bear in mind I just spent $70k on a vehicle. No one should have to pay a penny to replace bad tires with 6100 miles. The warranty is clear btw once you read it. It says the labor is covered under the New Vehicle Warranty and the tires are prorated by the manufacturer with 0-12000 miles at 100% replacement. Wasn't going to spend much time dealing with the $100, but it was clear once read, so no cost to me this time.

But with Ford now all defects are normal taking a page from Lada 1981 playbook under Soviet nepotism management.

Yep, had two of my OEM goodyears warrantied back in 2022, and when I replaced two different tires due to road debris I picked up had to send them back due to absolute crap balancing… I will not buy them again.
