Green parking light indicator on dash

I’ve left my basesquatch for a few tiles and came back to notice the parking lights were on (interior also I believe). I’ve also noticed the green parking light indicator on the dash while driving at night. It happened about 5 times. I may have accidentally turned the light knob while exiting the vehicle, and put it back to auto. Dealership wants to do a scan, but I may cancel if it’s just pilot error. The question I have is it normal for the green icon to be on at night? Thanks in advance…

Happened again this morning
I’ll have to post a link on you tube as the file is too large. Also noticed the headlights were on



the time between these two was about 5 min, with the lights staying on...

You mean the fist setting? Do you do this every time?

Yes. Rotate the switch so the top light is lit. That shuts the lights off. Then turn the engine off. I have not had the lights turn on by themselves after doing this.

You shouldn’t have to do this, but something is wrong.

The next time it happens, someone on another forum suggested I rotate it clockwise, I’ll give both of these a shot. I have an appointment set up next week. Me calling ford was a complete waste of time. They opened a case and closed it without doing a thing. The messages I had with the official Ford Account above told me that this much (I have screenshots). The best they can suggest is go to my dealership, they said. I asked why did they close the case? What did they do? Crickets since…
A long shot I tried was to unplug the wire harness to the door and give it a quick Nintendo blow and reattach. I took the doors off once and the issue seemed to start after…

Took it into dealership and they said it’s a defective head lamp switch. On order and I’ll post if this isn’t the solution. Thanks for all you help, everyone…

This issue is being discussed in other threads. Seems like Ford should do a TSB and replace the headlight switch When it is reported to the dealer.
