I don’t use lane keeping but I do get the coffee cup warning occasionally on longer drives. Seems odd on a two door since you can’t go that far anyways without stopping for gas. Not like my ES where I can go 400-500 miles before having to stop. Of course that’s a 2013 and few Nannie’s aboard.

The coffee cup warning is triggered by “wandering “ in your lane. I don’t know the parameters that trigger it, but if you’re on a long trip on the interstate and you’re not really paying attention to staying right in the center of your lane, your corrections will set it off.

I don't like lane keep assist. Maybe I am old fashioned, but I want my vehicle to modify my control inputs as little as possible. I feel like it's my job to pay attention and keep myself centered in the lane. I don't hate that it exists because I see too many morons with their faces glued to their phones and I'd rather trust their vehicle over them when they are already clearly, in the wrong. I'm just glad I can turn it off for myself.

In my case I am making nearly no corrections, pretty much dead center.
I come from a sports car background.... I like driving.

Yes normal. It senses steering input, doesn’t have a sensor on the steering wheel.
If I touch the wheel at 10 or 2 o'clock it halts the message. I usually catch it even before the chime goes off. There are definitely sensors at those positions.

But there aren’t.

But there aren’t.
"The 2025 Ford Bronco (and Bronco Sport) uses various sensors, including touch/capacitive types, integrated into its driver-assist systems for features like Blind Spot Monitoring (BLIS) (which can tug the wheel) and potentially for hands-free driving (BlueCruise), though BlueCruise is on specific models/packages, requiring hands on the wheel in hands-free zones and often using cameras/radar for lane centering rather than just steering wheel touch. Expect digital displays showing sensor activity, especially for park aids or off-road obstacle detection, depending on your trim."

I can literally change my hand position on the wheel without turning or moving the wheel and turn off the sensor by touch at the 10 and 2 o'clock positions.

Don’t know what to tell you, these vehicles dont have it. If you look at any of the aftermarket wheels available they dont have sensors.

I get the cup-o-coffee message when I’m looking around at scenery and stuff out the window. I’ll grant, however, it is usually near my destination after a while at the wheel.

Help me with this: I’ve been told one of the sensors in the interior mirror detects eye movement and uses this to check for eyes on the road to give these alerts.
I don’t trust much of what I’ve been told anymore; has anyone heard of this in 2025 Broncos?

There are no sensors in the steering wheel, nor does the Bronco have blue cruise.

Oh man. I’ve always thought maybe I had a bum steering sensor. I’ll try shaking the wheel from now on. It’s super annoying.

Then I have no idea why doing what I do fixes it. I drive at 9 o'clock usually just with a few fingers. If the warning appears on the screen, I place my hand at 10 o'clock and it stops. Are you saying the wheel detects the adjustment without having to move it and without having sensors in it?

The wheel doesn’t detect anything. The torque sensor in the PSCM does. You may not think it’s detecting anything from a small hand adjustment, but it can and in your case likely is.

Ok cool. I appreciate the info. I'm going to disable it just the same. Its annoying.
