If you’re a hardtop Bronco owner, you know all about the random squeaks and noises that come from the hardtop. The one sound sounds like a plastic wrapped pack of bottled water
I’ve had them since I’ve pickup my Bronco-chalked it up to the Bronco owners experience. Most the time it’s pretty random and not an every day experience.
A few years ago I heard people talking about krytox 205 grease to use on the rubber portions of the roof to keep them from drying out or squeaking. I bought some last year and forgot about it.
I was cleaning the rear glass last week and noticed that there was some rubber material where the gasket meets the tailgate. I guess it was rubbing against it. That jogged my memory about the grease I bought so I dug it out of my toolbox and applied it to all the soft and hard rubber parts on the rear window.
Since then I’ve had zero squeaks and the interior has been significantly quieter then it ever has been.
Here is the grease I bought if your interested in trying it out
