Do you tighten the thumb bolts down all the way down tight on the front of the hardtop back piece? Seems like the metal tabs that come out of the hardtop are a lot higher than the Bronco body so it slants down when screwing it down. Is this normal? Put a piece if white foam in pic so it doesn't rub on body/paint.

I have a similar issue and question (and also use the Rockworx bolts). I didn't pay attention the first time I took the top off so not sure what it looked like from the factory, but my tabs definitely sit almost an inch above the roof pillar/body before I thread the bolt down. I've been bolting them all the way down but you make a good point about scuffing the paint (though I'm too short to ever notice it!).

Seems like you should almost put a 1+ inch rubber hard washer between the body and tab. Kit came with a washer but it is really thin.

My paint chipped in that spot. That was before I installed my rockworx bolts. Never torqued the factory bolts beyond specified torque either. Just another crappy part of the hardtop design.
