It only fits hard tops.

This one. I assume it fits both Hard or softops since mounts it on the D-pillar and not the surface where the tops mount.

Hi,
I bought a Hooke Road tailgate reinforcement for my 23 BD from one of your distributors. Is it supposed to be bent? There are two vertical parallel bends making the plate convex toward the tailgate. The bends are straight lines and square so they look intentional. I haven't tried installing it yet but the bends would would seem to make it impossible to install it flat against the tailgate.

I have no experience with installing a tailgate reinforcement, but is the Bronco's tailgate not slightly curved?

Yes, it is! Just looked at it. I was surprised it was bent so much but appears it is supposed to be. Thanks for replying.
