if really curious, just yank the muffler off and see what it sounds like. Pretty sure it will convince you a delete is not what you want.
I disagree. The original pipe ends just past the axle and is pointing straight back. Being very close to the underside of the truck (4-5 inches from the floor and good two feet from the bumper) it resonates off the floor and sounds horrible. Delete pipe extends to the end of the truck body, and points downward, which places the exit sound about 13-14 inches away from the floor. It sounds very different from just removing the muffler. I tried it just for kicks.

I have the flowmaster. Sounds well enough, priced right too.
^^ I am quoting Blue Waffle because a year or so ago he posted a video of himself on some really challenging trails at his local OHV park.

I commented on his video because his exhaust sounded so awesome. Sure it was wheeling, and what sounds good at an OHV park may not sound great in the Starbucks drive thru. But Broncos are made to wheel, not mall crawl.

Tldr: you should do what Blue Waffle did, because his sounds awesome.

good to know - figured it was an easy check. for arguments sake, probably a cheap autozone muffler piece one could buy and slip on to redirect just to check. would still not be roadworthy with CO rolling under the body but again just to check

Save some more money and get an actual exhaust. I have an AFE Apollo GT high tuck on mine.
I have the 7 speed, the tach sucks and I couldn't hear the exhaust.
I can now hear it, it isn't loud, no drone, and doesn't sound bad at all.

We still enjoy the RC delete. Cheap. Saves weight. Better ground clearance. Noise is fun... makes poping and crackling sounds. Easier to drive the manual around town being able to hear the motor. Don't notice the exhaust on the hwy as the wind noise takes over.

No need to compare to a V8 or race car. It's a fun turbo convertible 4x4 toy. Laugh and smile.

BTDT (‘68). Set off every car alarm in the apartment complex.

Still, with a 3” cat back setup and tail pipe dumping out just behind the rear driver wheel, I’m happy enough with the sound. But that’s also with an Injen setup which contributes to more breathing and other output characteristics.

I have the RC kit and love the more aggressive sound.
I found a bit better mpg only if I can keep off of the skinny pedal.

OMG I did the flow master one to my Wildtrak before I sold it and it’s SOOOO BADDDDD under throttle.

sounds like a huge fart 💨 no exaggeration.

I tried convincing myself it was good, in hindsight it absolutely wasn’t. Pretty awful actually.
Only thing better than a bucking bronco is a farting Bronco,..

The last exhaust installed on a vehicle was my WRX back in 2008. I went to check prices when I got the bronco to see, holy heck I was shocked at the almost 1,000 price tags for the exhausts from compaines that I had on my other vehicles.

I put Borla on my wife's OBX. It sounds ...........well,......better. It sounds like a vehicle now, vs. sounding like a blender. Driving habits haven't changed, but the dash indicated MPG shows 1 (ONE!) mile per gal. better (17.3 before, and 18.3 now). Always in the sport mode, and with SAS on 35s.
I've been looking for the quietest high-clearance option to move the muffler from the rear to under the truck, with the goal of installing the Raptor tow hitch and supporting braces that need to live where the stock muffler resides.

I'm considering installing the Borla 400496 muffler under the truck along with the 60725 resonator above/behind the axle but it's a fair amount of money to drop if it'll be on the loud side of things.

Are you running the resonator on your wife's truck? Any drone on the highway?

I got this on sale almost a year and a half ago, I believe it was just under 400.

I'm sorry, but when people start talking about weight savings by switching exhausts on a vehicle as heavy as a Bronco 🤷‍♂️

Even if you went with full titanium, it's making like a <1% difference in your vehicle weight.
