Homemade tonneau cover is done

Since I haven't been able to find a cover for the 2 door, my stepfather and I decided to build our own. He's a retired Navy flight mechanic with his own airplane and excellent welding skills. This is our initial mock up and tack welding of the frame. It will be painted matte black and covered with Arctic grade vinyl when finished.

Very Nice. One day someone is going to develop a light weight anti-theft cargo cover and they will make a fortune. I have the ford enclosure and it is a pain the top weighs a ton and it bulky and not fun to take on and off.

Mine is held down by 4 bolts. Weighs less than 5#'s I'd say. We're happy how it turned out.

they didn't have mgv in a color I wanted. Can always get more. We have a pattern now.

It's a one off. Just my step-dad and I doing some bonding. I tried to see if he wanted to make a jig for the frame, but it was a no go.
